Giân-gú (言語[1]), he̍k-chiá gú-giân (gí-giân, 語言), ōe-gí (話語)[2] a̍h-sī ōe (話)[3], sī 1 thò tāi-piáu kap thoân-ta̍t ì-gī ê hē-thóng. Giân-gú ū kiat-kò͘, pau-koat gí-hoat, siaⁿ-ūn. Giân-gú thàu-kòe hû-hō thoân-ta̍t; hû-hō ê mûi-kài pau-koat siaⁿ-im, chhiú-sè, piáu-chêng, chu-sè, bûn-jī...téng-téng.

Giân-gú lêng-le̍k sī lâng siōng ki-pún ê hêng-ûi chi it. Lâng ê giân-gú chē-chē khoán; chóng--sī bô 1 thò goân-chek ū-hoat-tō͘ khek-koan tēng-gī giân-gú chi-kan ê piⁿ-kài.
