Khe-chiap-puh sī chi̍t khóan ùn-chiap ia̍h tiâu-bī-liāu, it-poaⁿ sī iōng kam-á-bi̍t lâi chè-chō. Hiān-tāi ê khe-chiap-puh gôan-liāu ū lông-siok ê kam-á-bi̍t, chhò͘, thn̂g, iâm téng-téng, ū chin chē bô kāng-khóan ê kháu-bī.

Tâi-oân-oē "khe-chiap-puh" chi̍t-ê bêng-sû, sī ùi Ji̍t-pún-oē ê "kechappu" (ケチャップ; kunrei-siki: ketyappu) thôan kòe; Ji̍t-pún-oē ê "kechappu", sī ùi Eng-gí ê "ketchup" (ia̍h "catchup") chioh--lâi.

Eng-gí kap Hô-lân-gí lāi-bīn "ketchup" ê gí-gôan, khó-lêng sī ùi Má-lâi-gí ê "kechap" (ia̍h "kichoop") thôan--kòe-khì, Má-lâi-gí ê "kechap", khó-lêng koh sī ùi Hok-kiàn-ōe ê "kê-chiap" (鮭汁) thôan kòe.
