The flag was adoted by the Preiļi municipal council on 26 April 2012.
Latviešu: Preiļu novada karogs.
2012. gada 26. aprīlī Preiļu novada domes deputāti apstiprināja jaunā Preiļu novada karoga metu. Saskaņā ar domes lēmumu, karogs ir taisnstūra audums tumši zaļā krāsā, kura centrā attēlots krāsains Preiļu novada ģerbonis, kura augstums ir 3/5 no karoga platuma. Karoga platuma attiecības pret garumu ir 1:2 un tā izmēri var būt 1m × 2m vai 1,5m × 3m.[1]
