Gì-tah sī chi̍t-khoán ū hiân ê ga̍k-khì. Thong-siông chiàⁿ-chhiú ná poé hiân (hō͘ soàⁿ tín-tāng hoat-siaⁿ), tò-chhiú ná ji̍h hiân (khòng-chè im-tiāu).

Hiān-tāi ê gì-tah pun-chò siaⁿ-ha̍k (acoustic) kap tiān-chú 2 toā lūi. Siaⁿ-ha̍k gì-tah it-poaⁿ kóng chò "chhâ gì-tah" (sui-jiân tiān gì-tah mā sī chhâ chò ê). Chhâ gì-tah chú-iàu koh pun-chò "bîn-iâu" (folk, mā hō-chò "kǹg-hiân gì-tah") kap kó͘-tián 2 chióng. Bîn-iâu gì-tah ha̍h kǹg soàⁿ; kó͘-tián ha̍h nai-lóng soàⁿ.

Gì-tah ū ē-kha ê ki-pún pō͘-ūi:

  1. Thâu-pō· (headstock): tī gì-tah ām-kún ê boé-liu. Chit-ê pō͘-ūi ū an "ke-khì-thâu-á" (machine heads), it-poaⁿ ū 6 ki, iōng-lâi tiâu hiân ê im-ūi (?) (pitch). Thoân-thóng ê pâi-hoat sī "3+3", piáu-sī téng-koân ū 3 ki, ē-kha mā ū 3 ki. Tiān gì-tah tiāⁿ-tiāⁿ sī 6 ki pâi ti̍t-ti̍t 1 choā, ū-sî sī "4+2".
  2. Hiân-chím (nut): tiàm-tī thâu-pō· kap chéng-thâu-pang sio-kap ê só·-chāi. Bīn-téng ū khek kau-á lâi hoāⁿ hiân (bē-su "chím-thâu"). Châi-liāu ū iōng chhiūⁿ-gê, kut-thâu, sok-ka, chio̍h-ba̍k (graphite), iah-sī kî-thaⁿ ê poàⁿ tēng ê mi̍h; châi-liāu ē éng-hióng gì-tah ê im-sek.
  3. Tiâu-im-thâu (machine heads): an tī thâu-pō· ê tiâu-im ke-si-thâu-á, it-poaⁿ ū 6 ki, 1 ki peⁿ 1 tiâu hiân.
  4. Frets: tah tī chéng-thâu-pang bīn-téng ê thih tiâu. Iōng-lâi kái-piàn hiân ē-tit tín-tāng ê tn̂g-té, tì-tio̍h hoat bô kāng koân-kē ê khîm-siaⁿ. Chi̍t-ê fret khòng-chè 1-ê poàⁿ-im.
  5. Hêng-kè-koaiⁿ (truss rod, 桁架杆)
