MG Anders was at D-M to make the conference his last flying experience. With tradition after a pilot has finished their flying status a person sprays them with a fire hose and their career is honored. MG Anders was an astronaut on Apollo 8 which was the first person to have left Earth orbit and traveled the moon. Also, MG Anders is the President for the Heritage Flight Museum.
