Pang-kok (Eng-gí: state; óa-im: "su-tè-toh") sī chi̍t-ê chèng-tī-thé. Chi̍t khoán tēng-gī sī ū kiông-chè-le̍k ê chèng-tī cho͘-chit, hâm chi̍t-ê tiong-iong chèng-hú thang pó-chhî tī it-tēng tē-lí léng-thó͘ tang-tiōng to̍k-chiàm bú-le̍k sú-iōng ê ha̍p-hoat-sèng.

Liân-pang-chè ē-té ê pang-kok

Chi̍t kóa liân-pang, pí-lūn Bí-kok, in ē-té ê kò-pia̍t pang hūn mā sǹg sī kok-ka, in cho͘-sêng liân-pang ê chi̍t pō͘-hūn.[1] Chia ê kok-ka ū pō͘-hūn ê chú-khoân pun hō͘ liân-pang chèng-hú.[2]Eng-gí, oân-choân to̍k-li̍p ê kok-ka kap liân-pang hē-thóng ē-té ê kok-ka lóng thang hō chò state, chong-sī chi̍t kóa Tang-iûⁿ giân-gí tiāⁿ te̍k-pia̍t kā Bí-kok liân-pang ē-té ê state hoan-e̍k chò "chiu" (州).
